Sixteen-year-old
Trey Atlas’ good looks, ocean blue eyes, and great personality all help him
maintain his status as one of the most popular students in school. However, Trey’s known life is a lie. While he was raised in Miami, Trey was
born in Atlantis. Sent off the
legendary island as a baby for his own safety, Trey is now the only living heir
to the Atlantean throne. Whether
he likes it or not, Trey is the Ruling Prince of Atlantis and responsible for
leading the revolution to defeat the Knights of the Abyss. In the process of saving an island he
knows nothing about—but is connected to by birth—, Trey has to piece together
his family history in order to find out about his own mysterious past.
Jocasta
Not much is known about the most powerful sorceress in
Atlantean history, other than the fact that she, for some reason, shares a
hatred for Atlantis with the Knights of the Abyss. Jocasta has the ability to bring abiotic items to life and she has been known to do the reverse as well. Both spells require very advanced magic and skill and, the fact that she is able to cast them, should worry her foes.
Knights of the Abyss
An underground organization with a hatred for Atlantis’ lush
history, the Knights of the Abyss have one goal—destroy all that is
Atlantis. Composed of Atlantean civilians, soldiers, and elites, the
Knights have endless resources and connections to the island they want
to destroy.
Ries
Ries is a high-ranking Atlantean soldier that saves Trey and Oaren from the Knights when they first visit the Capitol city. When the Knights attack the boys again, this time deep in the Atlantean forests, Ries leads a group of soldiers to help. He then becomes Trey's chief military advisor and the one responsible for leading the war against the Knights of the Abyss.
Aerian
Aerian is a seventeen-year-old sorceress from a long line of
sorcerers that served the Atlantean royals. But she is more than a servant to the current royal family
because her boyfriend was Prince Jendrick (grandson of the ruling Prince and
Princess). When the Knights of the
Abyss attacked the palace, Aerian witnessed the people closest to her get
killed and found herself kidnapped.
Calling on the only living heir to the throne—Trey Atlas—Aerian finds
herself once again loyal to a ruler and guilty about her feelings toward the
new Prince.
Oaren
With dirty blond hair, blue eyes, and a strong work ethic
and loyalty to the kingdom, fourteen-year-old Oaren is a typical Atlantean boy.
The only child of a farming family, Oaren is responsible for the regular farm
chores. When Trey Atlas shows up
on the island, Oaren is more than happy to change his own destiny by helping
the new Prince find his way around the island. Oaren’s help and loyalty prove most beneficial—and
crucial—to the new Prince.
